The deck of cards consists of 52 joyful watercolours painted by Merry Crowson. Merry grew up in Spain, in the countryside of Andalusia. She has spent a lot of her life outside, walking, swimming and climbing. She has always enjoyed painting and drawing but has had no formal training: she taught herself with the help of books and lots of practice.Merry started the series of 52 paintings that have become Daughters in Flower before she was 18, finding some time while she was studying for A Levels and finishing in her gap year. The paintings map some of the path she has walked in her transition from girl to woman in flower, developing her own unique humorous style on the way.
